First skate on the canal today was great. A little bumpy in areas but I managed to cover about 12 km and went the whole length of the maintained ice. This was an interesting obstacle though. Everyone had to move over so the machines could clean the ice.

I’ve been excited to get some snow here in Victoria, and we finally have it! In fact, for the first time in a very long time, there is a snow day for the kids due to another storm expected to hit this afternoon. Too bad I have to work today.
Yeah, this means I’ll be deleting this app. Too bad, it was fun. I skimmed part of the ‘agreement’ and did not like what I saw.
It is really annoying to call what you think is a business phone, and the person answers with a simple ‘hello’. Do I have the wrong number? Did I call their personal cell phone?
I just saw some snow flakes falling for the first time this winter! Exciting for us, but I know other parts of the country are sick of snow by now.
Simplifying my digital life has meant unfollowing and unsubscribing from many feeds. FOMO is strong with me and it feels odd at first, but I forget about it quite quickly. Later on it feels liberating. I feel lighter.
I took the plunge and changed my micro.blog to be the full feed from my site. This is my attempt at [POSSE](https://indieweb.org/POSSE). I don’t think I’m ready to give up Instagram yet, but Twitter and Facebook I never post to, save for a couple exceptions.
There should never be an instance of the bridge being raised during the morning or evening commute. I don’t think that shipment of gravel was critical enough to inconvenience such a large number of people. #yyj #bridge
Sometimes I feel destined to not get a good nights rest. Last night, despite getting to bed earlier than normal, I was up by 5 am due to the dog. Sigh. At least I got some useful coding done.
It always brings me joy when I can meet the bus as it arrives at my stop (without running to catch it) and I can just walk on without waiting.
