Trick Sparklers

Halloween was quite fun this year. Suede and I joined the children of some friends for trick or treating. It is an annual tradition for Suede to join them, and I have gone a couple times now. It is very fun, and the kids usually have some great costumes.
After the candy trek, we went and set off some fireworks and played with sparklers. Lots of fun.
Favorite Screeching
Last night, when we went out, we brought Yoshi with us, but he stayed in the truck while we went trick or treating with friends’ kids. He was a little scared, and was shaking when we got back to the truck, but he wasn’t frantic. In fact, he was laying down the whole time.
Thankfully Halloween is over, so the noises should end pretty soon now. This will make Yoshi happy.
Crispness Pointer

I love this time of year. I like the crispness in the morning air, the changing colors, the darkness for sleeping.
I love walking amongst the leaves hearing them crunch beneath me.
Fall is a season of change, and sometimes I find that invigorating.
The above pictues were taken at Elk Lake last weekend when Suede, Yoshi and I took a walk in the park. It was a nice walk that we used o kill the time before a vet appointment for Yoshi. Nearing the end of the walk we met another, younger, pointer whose owner was playing fetch. We joined in and played for a bit. The interesting thing about this other pointer was that she was almost all brown. Very sleek looking when a solid color. The other owner though Yoshi was very handsome too.

Inspiring Best

Yesterday was the Royal Victoria Marathon. Suede and a few of our friends ran the half marathon, which, in my opinion, is still a great accomplishment. I managed to see everyone that I knew was running the race while they were on course. I always find it amazing how many people take part in these events. It is pretty amazing to stand in one spot as the lead runner comes by, then wait until the street is jam packed with people running. Seeing the downtown streets with no cars and packed with people is pretty awe inspiring.
I am very proud of all my friends who did the race. I think it is a huge accomplishment to finish the race. While not everyone set a personal best, I think that each and everyone of them should be proud of their race.

Deadlines Cheer

This week has been rather crazy. Work deadlines combined with getting ready for vacation combined with day to day life made for a busy week. A side effect was that I had no time for things like posting here.
This post should have been made last weekend.
Suede, coreman, justine, and others took part in the CIBC Run for the Cure. There was an amazing amount of people taking part, and it was good for me to get out with Yoshi to cheer everyone on.
After the race we had a few folks (and their kids) over for a brunch.
Good times, and great eats!
Steep Workout

Yesterday Suede, Yoshi, and I joined Justine, Oscar and Coreman on a dog walk at Matheson Lake in Metchosin. What a nice walk. The dogs enjoyed it immensely. Yoshi and Oscar ran the whole time we walked. The trail around the lake gets quite steep at times, so it gives the humans a good workout too!
After the walk Yoshi was one tired pup. He slept the rest of the day. The weather (as you can tell from the pictures) was pretty amazing. Warm and sunny. It is october, and I can still stand to wear shorts (not that I did on the walk)!

Cordova Light

Wednesday the photo club met at Cordova Bay. As I was driving there I was thinking that the light was going to work out great. Then I crested a hil, and headed into the bay. The light was terrible! Ack, I was on the eastern side, not the western. What had I done!
Anyway, we made the best of it, took some pics, then headed out for a drink. Good times.
