Ahhh, motorized forms of transportation are so much fun. My commute to work doesn’t warrant a car, don’t want a motorcycle, scooters are no good (parking), electric bicycles are laaaame. If I were in the market for motorized transportation, it woul have to be something that I can take into my office. How about a motorized skateboard? Perfect. I’ve seen these on TV before, and they were described as a way to surf on land. Hubless wheels that you put your feet through, lean to steer, have fun on the way to work. Now that is a commuter vehicle. 25 – 20 Km/H top speed.

Now, about the brakes? Are there any?

Gadgets for geeks. I love em. What about gadgets for non geeks? I love those too.

Ever been on a picnic, and have no place to put your wine glass? Grass just has no consistent support and the ground ccan be very uneven or sloped. What you crave is a table. What you need is this picnic wine table. Drive the stake in the ground, attach the top, and voila, you have a suitable place to prevent spillage.

Pendulumeca. Simple concept flash game. Very little in the way of controls, but still a challenging game. It took me a couple tries to figure out what to do. Haven’t made it past level 1 yet though. I will try a few times today I bet.

Wish my dentist had this system. I had XRays taken today, and I still had to bite down on the stupid film strips and wait for them to zap me. Digital is definitely the way to go. If only every dentist could switch sooner rather than later.

Good grief, and other link to gizmodo today. The seat cushion that can heat or cool. I think this is awesome. Why? I live in Victoria, what would this do in my car? Well, I wouldn’t put it there. This baby would live at work. I am a programmer, and sitting in my chair all day can lead to a sweaty back. Add in to the mix that the building I work in has terrible air conditioning, and lots of hear sources, you get one sweaty Greg in the summer months. How wicked would it be to sit in a cool seat all summer.

Flip the switch in the winter (when the office is freezing cold due to inadequate heating), and now you have a cozy seat for programming. Happy programmers make happy code.

Ahh lasers. Is there anything they can’t do? Heal skin, fix eyesight, remove tattoos, heat things. The list can go on and on. The US military wants to add them to their arsenal. Recent advances have made that more likely. My questions for this technology revolve around what happens when they miss their target? If this is installed in a plane, and that warplane is trying to shoot another down, but misses, where does the beam go? If it hits the ground, what happens to people/buildings? I know bullets have the same problem, but consider this. What happens if the shot is aimed skyward and the shot misses? The laser enters space? What happens then? Will it ever stop? What if we accidentally shoot down the space station? What if the shot goes clear out into outer space and hits an alien craft? We could start a glactic war in which we would lose horribly. 🙂

Flash drives are cool. I have used them at work a bit moving files between computers inside our network, and outside our network. One problem with drives is that there is no visual indication of fullness. Until now. 🙂 This product called a flashbag inflates as it fills. Yeah, just a concept still, but fun none the less.
