LOTDs – Difficult Lights

This is a pretty cool home built light box for photography. I want to build one some day, because I can see the usefulness of it, especially in the winter when getting outside to shoot is more difficult. Looks easy enough, looks great price wise, and looks like it works quite well.

The same guy also has this great article on making your own ring light. Pretty nifty. Not sure if I would make this one or not, but it certainly seems like it would be fun to try. I’m not exactly into studio shooting, and this isn’t a portable rig. Cool tro try out, but most likely wouldn’t have lasting appeal.

Last Link of the Day is another Do it Yourselfer. Make your own macro light ring. This is one I could see myself building and using. Have you seen how expensive ring lights are? One of the Canon ring flashes retails for around $750.

LOTDs – Glove Phone Launcher

Mitten-Gloves for Photographers Not sure if I would classify these as solely for photographers, but I can see how they could be used by photogs. The problem I see though is the inner glove, unless had some kevlar or leather finger tips, would be too slippery to operate the controls on a camera.

Bluetooth Pig Speakers – For Your Phone Not really bluetooth enabled, but cute none-the-less. Would make great iPod speakers for out in the garage I would think. They really are just pig shaped computer speakers.

SnackShotz Dog Biscuit Launcher Ahh, what fun. Shoot disc shaped dog treats up to 12 feet! Feed fido, and entertain yourself at the same time.

Maps Located

Surely by now you have heard of Google Maps. Very cool technology with an open API for programmers like me. Not that I have the time to play with an API like that.

In any event combine Google Maps with and IP Address locater mix it with a dash of web site logging and you get gVisit, a Google map generator that shows where your sites visitors are physically located. Very cool.

You owe it to yourself to play with gVisit. Here is my map.
