Beauty day out there. Apparently I pushed a little too hard and flatted in the goose. Then I mangled the new tube. I ended up having to patch and get going again. That’s life some times.

My little buddy on my bike got more than a few comments yesterday at the race. His job is to keep me pointed in the right direction and he usually does a pretty good job.

2019 Hammerfest Enduro. Racing is alive in Vancouver Island. Lots of fun, and I didn’t suffer quite so much in the climbs. The view from the power lines never gets old.

Shattered. What a day for a race. Lots of great trails and great people. So hot out there. I was sweating from places I didn’t know had pores. I really suffered on the uphill, but felt comfortable on the down. I felt like I was picking good lines and making good turns, but I was lacking in power and endurance.
I realized on the drive home that maybe doing five hours of yard work in the sun the day before a race isn’t a good idea.

Yowzers, what a ride. I managed to stick with @elevenspeedcoffee and friends for about 70km then my legs told me I had to drop otherwise they would blow up. Still eked our 100km. The last 4km of head wind had me swearing up a storm though.
